Biography

Robert Fox, Chief Executive Officer, OntarioMD
B.Sc., MBA (Major in Health Administration), CHE  
 
Robert Fox has been at the helm of OntarioMD as CEO since January 2022, bringing with him 25 years of extensive experience in health care leadership and policy. He is a strong advocate for technology adoption as a key driver for optimizing and sustaining Canada's health care system.
 
Prior to his current role, Robert held senior positions at TELUS Health and Cisco Systems, where he focused on the digital transformation of health care delivery across Canada. His work aimed to improve patient outcomes by enhancing technology integration and fostering patient engagement within Ontario Health Teams.
 
Before his foray into health technology, Rob was an executive at St. Michael’s Hospital for 20 years where he held leadership positions in Quality, Laboratory Medicine, Corporate Performance & Strategy, Decision Support, and Capital Development. He was instrumental in pioneering initiatives such as Canada’s first fully automated hospital laboratory and played a key role in significant projects like the integration of Wellesley Hospital and major capital development efforts. Additionally, he has provided strategic advice to the Ministry of Health regarding capital infrastructure planning and the funding formula for hospitals.
