The Tree Party, May 1
We were delighted to be hosted by Ken Rutherford, founder of Winter Glow, our Dundas Square partner.

It was a beautiful evening to gather at the Aperture Room on Yonge Street with its gorgeous skylights. The room was decorated with the 2023 ribbons as well the tops from the tree. We had the Health Bus parked outside for a while - for show not for need!

With excellent wrapups from Anny-Sandra and Jayson the tone was set for fun and friendship.

Good wine, snacks, music by Dr. Draw and saplings for a donation to the 2024 tree - we are off to a good start.

Removal of Invasive Plants with
Toronto Nature Stewards
Saturday, May 4th, 2024

Invasive species removal is a key part of management on our nature reserves as they out-compete native flora and fauna. They are often seen in large monoculture patches and can quickly take over, resulting in biodiversity loss.

We had a large group of Rotarians at Severn Creek Park busy removing as much as possible.
For all of you at home, we removed Garlic Mustard, Burdock and and a third one.

If you have those in your yard, remove them and introduce native plants instead, not only you will help the environment but you will create a low maintenance garden.
