Paul Truelove - Let's Be Personal September 20, 2019
Dr Paul Truelove joined this club in December 1986. He shared a bit of his background from being born in 1952 in Perth Ontario. He attended the University of Waterloo earning an honours BSc in Kinesiology. He had a short stint working in the federal government. He was with Manpower and Immigration in the information services division. The minister was Robert Andras who was the uncle to John and Ken Andras. Small world!
Paul got his Doctorate degree at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College and is now in his fortieth year in practice. He assured us
that after all these years he almost knows what he is doing! He shared that joining Rotary was the best decision he ever made! The best friendships and the opportunity to serve the community locally and abroad are the highlights. He mentioned that everyone should read Chris Snyder’s book about the benefits of volunteering.
He closed by sharing a story about his fiftieth birthday when his
wife Alison (Jeff Dobson’s twin sister) had a wake for the first 50 years of his time on the planet: just to snap him out of a shallow depression! If you want the details you will have to ask him! He mentioned honorary member Sarah Dell and her secret to a great speech hinged on the two Bs. Be Brief and then Be seated.
