Scugog Members only Retreat - May 24-26
We are off for another fellowship and team building event!  We will be cleaning painting and repairing.

Our chefs are ready to go.

Our first camp experience was in 1942 at the Easter Seals Camp which we helped fund. We were there until the camp closed.

The only years we have missed were 2020 and 2021 because of Covid. This will be our 16th year at Scugog.
Club Assembly May 8, 2024
Organized by Vice-President Dauna Jones-Simmonds and assisted by directors Neisely Eugene and Maureen Bird as well as techie Nikita Williams we were able to do presentations at our Assembly Know Your Club in front of a great crowd.

Maureen ran us through her 28 years of activity from Seniors Christmas Party, Habitat for Humanity to sweat equity trips to Malawi and Cambodia and looking forward to her 16th trip to Camp Scugog.

Videos were shown from John Fortney on club history of big projects, Bill Empey on Indigenous Working Group, Jake Tran on Seniors Working Group and Andy Wedderburn on Member Engagement Committee.

Our Club Dollars at Work in Pictures

Always great to see our Club everywhere, from the big contributions such as SPRINT and St Mike’s Transition Centre, to the small little additions that make the world a better place…like our bench outside Sick Kids that provides a place to rest for so many healthcare workers, patients and families, often when it’s much needed.
SPRINT - creating a fleet of vehicles for use by Senior Groups in Toronto.

This has been a multi-year project

New Member Liam Hancock
Liam joined Rotary Etobicoke on April 6, 2022 and on May 8 transferred to our Club.
While a Member in Etobicoke, Liam has accomplished much in a short time. He has been a Board of Directors Member since 2023, and was the New Generations Chair. He also coordinated the reviewing of student applications for the merit award Program. He has a great deal of experience in working with youth. In High School, he was a Member and President of the Etobicoke Collegiate Institute’s Interact Club. While at University at Carleton, he was a Member of the campus based Rotaract Club of Ottawa South. He has used this experience well as he is currently coordinating activities with the Etobicoke Collegiate Interact Club and the
Richview Collegiate Interact Club. He also is working with the Rotaract Club at York University.

Liam has also been very active in many other areas with Etobicoke. He is a very hard worker that always seems to make himself available for events and projects where he can be of assistance. Not only was Liam active in the Club, but is also very involved in the Community. He is a Board Member of the Etobicoke Historical Society, and is also their volunteer Photo Collection Curator.
Liam embodies what a true Rotarian is, and is a good example of “Service Above Self”. He is an asset to any Club he is involved with.
