Ted Barris is an award-winning journalist, author, and broadcaster. His writing has regularly appeared in the national press, as well as magazines as diverse as Air Force, esprit de corps and Zoomer. He has also worked as host/contributor for most CBC Radio network programs, PBS in the U.S. and on TV Ontario. And after 18 years teaching, he recently retired as a full-time professor of journalism at Toronto’s Centennial College.

An absolutely amazing Remembrance Day lunch last Friday. Not just to honour so many, including our own in the Club, but also to hear the challenges faced by veterans in the very recent deployments such as Afghanistan. Most powerful.
Veterans Working Group leader Sylvia Geist read Flanders Fields. A slide show featuring pictures of almost every Rotarian who enlisted in WWI, WWII or joined the club after WWII was prepared by Maureen Bird and shown prior to the main meeting.
We were honoured to have our last WWII veteran Jack Robertson in attendance.

Each person attending is asked to donate $40 towards the purchase of 2 Holiday hampers of food that we deliver to needy families.
Anyone that is not attending an event but wishes to make a donation may do so below.
Holiday gift bags for Seniors: crew to pack the bags Manor Road United Church, September 27th at 12:30pm drivers to deliver the bags to various locations around the city (date TBD but will be a weekday in December). This is in lieu of a party.

The Soweto Gospel Choir from South Africa will be in Toronto for one night only and we have planned a night where we can gather together for a night of entertainment.
