Peace by PEACE in Toronto is part of an international, non-profit organization working towards making our cities more peaceful communities. Peace by PEACE trains more than 150 university student volunteers each year in Toronto. These student volunteers become community leaders who are matched to a grade 5 classroom in the city to deliver an 11-week conflict resolution program. Each year, more than 1000 grade 5 students in Toronto learn conflict resolution and peace building skills through a curriculum of games, role-playing and discussion. The program culminates in The Rotary Club of Toronto Peace Festival, where all students, volunteers and sponsors are brought together to celebrate peace. The Rotary Club of Toronto has been a supporter of this program since 1998.
